Stretch film or stretch wrap is a highly stretchable plastic film which can be wrapped around pallets and other items.  The elastic recovery keeps the items tightly wrapped and stabilises the palletised goods, while providing a cover against dirt and dust.Standard clear film is the most popular for general use, but blue and black film are also popular.  Blue film is widely used in the food industry while black is used as a security film to disguise palletised goods and prevent pilferage. For colour coding pallets the other colours available are red, yellow and green film.

Hand applied stretch film rolls come with either a standard card core, which is flush to the roll, or an extended card core. The standard card core can be applied using a hand held stretch film dispenser.  The extended core rolls do not require a dispenser as it’s the the cores themselves that are held while applying the film.

Machine applied stretch film comes in either standard cast film or power pre-stretch film.  The type of film required depends on the machine being used.

Standard cast machine film is for use on core brake machines.  This film provides a high level of stretch depending on the type of machine being used and offers excellent puncture resistance, cling, slip and load retention.

Power pre-stretch film is a high performance film which has the same benefits of standard cast film but as it’s pre-stretched will produce a greater yield.
