With an ever increasing pressure for businesses to become more sustainable and reduce their use of single use plastic, the paper packaging solutions can assist your business to be more environmentally friendly and can be the logical solution to reduce costs to your business. Read below our top 5 reasons why you should make the switch to paper wrapping - such as EcoWrap - and the benefits of it for your business.

1. Environmentally Friendly

With the ever growing pressure to build a sustainable future, consumers are looking for companies who show they are doing whatever they can to reduce their use of single use plastic. With 73% of consumers stating that paper and cardboard packaging is important to them, the need to make changes is rapidly increasing. The EcoWrap is made using recycled materials, is 100% recyclable and biodegradable. The non-abrasive cushioned wrap provides strong protection for any objects. Our  Paper Bubble Wrap is another great alternative to bubble wrap, this increasingly popular wrap is made using 100% recycled fibre. The paper features an embossed pattern which protects goods and once broken down this paper bubble wrap is compostable. Our ever growing eco friendly range is a great step in the right direction showing consumers you are doing what it takes to be more sustainable.

2. Saving you money

The incoming plastic tax, meaning manufacturers and importers of over 10 tonnes of plastic packaging, that contains less than 30% recycled materials, will be charged at a rate of £200 per tonne. These measures are being introduced to tackle single use plastic waste. This is going to influence huge changes in packaging across the UK. By switching to fully recyclable paper and cardboard packaging options this could save hundreds, there is also a chance many manufacturers will be removing much of their plastic packaging. Making the switch now will save unnecessary frustration further down the line. As well as the plastic tax impacting packaging costs the EcoWrap could also save money by reducing the amount of packaging needed overall. By allowing you to use smaller boxes and less inner packaging you will see costs being cut. For more on the plastic tax read our post from September 2021, the plastic packaging tax.

3. Reduce Storage Space Required

Our range of EcoWrap has an extended length of 420m, meaning 3 are roughly the same as a 1500m roll of bubble wrap. The paper rolls are much smaller than bubble wrap and come packaged in cardboard boxes allowing them to be stacked. The heavy duty dispenser which we offer as part of a kit with the paper rolls is around 58cm long and 32cm wide meaning it doesn’t take up much space at all. The dispenser has a variable tension applicator which can be used for rolls up to 500mm wide. The tension allows to get the most out of the paper roll, extending it to its full capacity. This ensures you are maximising each roll, which not only saves space but saves money. The paper bubble wrap we have available comes in a variety of roll widths up to 1000mm, each with 75m length. These rolls are also substantially smaller than the equivalent roll of bubble wrap on offer. This paper bubble wrap doesn’t require any additional machinery just wrap, cut and tape and be sure that your products are well protected.

4. Reduces the need for adhesive tape and other fastening products

The EcoWrap rolls have precision slits to create hexagonal honeycomb cells, when applied using a tension applicator. The honeycomb cells provide cushion protection and interlock, eliminating the need for adhesive tape. As the packaging essentially sticks to itself you can be sure that any products packaged in this are secure and protected. The EcoWrap is currently the only product that has this quality, this unique feature allows for safe and secure packaging without the need for additional adhesive tape.

5. Reduces space needed for packaging products

Across the UK more people are looking at ways to decrease their impact on the environment but are also looking at the brands they are using. A recent report said that 77% of consumers state that brands should use as little packaging as possible and 66% say it is important for packaging to be recyclable. Reducing the amount of packaging used is easier with EcoWrap, using our heavy duty dispenser you can easily wrap items in two or three layers and be sure that they are secure. With this wrap you can easily stack items and ensure you get as much as you can into one box or use smaller boxes as there doesn’t need to be excess space for bubble wrap. Similar to paper bubble wrap this gives a cushioned protection and takes up much less space in boxes to bubble wrap allowing for smaller boxes and less inner packaging.  Reducing the amount of packaging you use keeps consumers happy and making it all fully recyclable shows you are taking steps to improve sustainability.
