There are various types of strapping available on the market.  The most commonly used is polypropylene strapping which is for light to medium duty applications, regularly used as a pallet strapping.  This is also the cheapest strapping available and very versatile.Steel strapping and extruded polyester strapping are used for heavy duty applications with a break strain of up to 2 tonnes.  The benefit extruded polyester strapping has over steel strapping is that being a plastic strapping it does not rust or stain your product and has reduced indentation of palletised goods.

Woven polyester strapping can be used for light to heavy duty applications with a break strain of up to 2 tonnes.  It has no sharp edges so can be applied by hand or using a strapping tensioner along with sheradised buckles.

It is critical that the correct strapping tools, seals, buckles are used in the application of each type of strapping for an effective application.
